I’ve begun a new piece, a boy and his dog, and decided the boy needed a pair of felted boots.
I used merino wool and silk tussah.
I laid them out over a resist pattern for the boots.
beginning to felt
rolling in a matchstick blind
time to remove the resist
The piece is cut open and the plastic resist inside is removed. Then the boots are turned right side out
and shaped some more on a wash board.
I wanted to trim the boots wtih ultra suede but needed a slightly darker grey than what I have. So, Rit dye to the rescue.....
And the finished boots go on the feet.
