The show at Hanson Galleries is up and looks beautiful! The piece I entered in the show is titled "Bianca".
And here she is under construction. I began with a base fabric - white robe velour - which I then covered with lace.
Flowers made of silk ribbon are sewn on, along with beads and sequins.
The face is needlesculpted:
Different colors of mohair are auditioned for her hair.
Fabric is dyed for the wig cap.
The wig cap is formed on her head, and the mohair is added in layers.
All this mohair is swept up into a chignon at the base of her neck. More flowers are fastened in her hair, pearl drop earings are added, and "Bianca" is complete.
She is so beautiful...wow:)
ReplyDeleteThe mohair you use is lovely. Can I ask where you buy it from?
Thank you! My all time favorite supplier of mohair is mohairbydebbie.com I've never been disappointed by the quality.
